Renewable Energy Technical Specialist
Kurnia Setiawan graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering Specializing in Electrical Power systems in October 2011, and he joined the NZMATES team in November 2019 as Renewable Energy Technical Specialist (RETS). Kurnia has a diverse range of experience and during his career has worked in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies in many sectors, including coal fired power plants, renewable energy solar PV, energy management systems, transmission and distribution networks and electrical protection. He has also worked on engineering, construction and commissioning with industrial and utility grid company, PLN. Kurnia also has expertise in power system study using PSS Sincal, Etap, and Digsilent Software.
Kurnia’s responsibilities as RETS include carrying out technical assessments for potential grid-connected and off-grid renewable energy projects, calculating economic costs for project budgets, developing long term sustainable business models, designing project delivery methodologies and schedules from conceptual design and detailed engineering, to implementation and O&M, and tendering processes. As RETS Kurnia will support and work directly with the NZMATES community engagement team as well as with PLN and ESDM.
