Politeknik Negeri Ambon and NZMATES Hold Workshop on Renewable Energy Curriculum Development

As part of its efforts to advance education in the field of renewable energy, Politeknik Negeri Ambon (Polnam) held a workshop on the development of a renewable energy curriculum from 16-17 September 2024. The workshop, attended by heads of departments, lecturers, and education staff from Polnam, aimed to design a curriculum that is relevant and responsive to the latest developments in clean energy technology and the needs of industry, particularly in Eastern Indonesia.

The establishment of this programme is expected to be a significant step for the institution in maintaining a high standard of education that is both relevant and competitive. With a comprehensive and practical curriculum developed through the workshop, students are anticipated to acquire skills that meet industry demands and open up opportunities for collaboration with various stakeholders in the development of clean energy in Maluku.

New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) continues to support the creation of this renewable energy programme. In addition to capacity building for lecturers, students, and educational staff, NZMATES extended its support through provision of training equipment for solar and micro-hydro at Ambon State Polytechnic. It is hoped that with these facilities, students enrolled in the programme will be able to effectively learn about renewable energy in the future
