Soeripno has over 23 years of experience as a Senior Researcher at the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN), now known as BRIN/National Research and Innovation Agency. He then served as a consultant at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as the National Project Manager for the "Wind Hybrid Power Generation Marketing Development Initiatives (WHyPGen)" project for 4 years and 6 months. Following that, he, commonly known as Ripno, joined UPC Renewable Indonesia, an IPP company that successfully constructed Indonesia's first commercial Wind Farm with a capacity of 75 MW in Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi. In this role, he served as the Project Development Manager for Wind and Solar projects for 5 years.
As a Renewable Energy Technology Advisor at PT Prima Energi Consult, Ripno actively participated as a speaker in seminars, workshops, and disseminating information, knowledge, and research findings on wind energy technology, both nationally and internationally. He was also actively involved in various associations, serving as the Chair of the Indonesian Wind Energy Society (MEAI), Chair of the Expert Council of the Indonesian Wind Energy Association (AEAI), member of the Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI), active in the Indonesian National Standards Technical Commission (SNI) and the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards Technical Commission (SKKNI), as well as an Assessor at the Renewable Energy Professional Certification Institute (LSP-ET).
Currently, as the Renewable Energy Technical Manager in the New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) programme, his role is to ensure the success of the NZMATES programme alongside the technical and other teams. He will oversee the quality of technical deliverables and coordinate and support the work of the technical team, as well as coordinate with stakeholders at both regional and national levels.
