To encourage greater women’s participation in the renewable energy sector in Maluku, NZMATES held its first Women in Energy Initiative starting in June 2021 and concluding with a public webinar on July 15, 2021.
Findings from the survey were presented during a public webinar. NZMATES invited three women speakers from the energy sector: Head of BAPPEDA Maluku Economy and Natural Resources, Betti Ratekanan, Manager of IESR’s Sustainable Energy Access Program, Dr. Marlistya Citraningrum, and from NZMATES, our Renewable Energy Technical Specialist, Maryam Karimah. Each presentation drew a clear picture of challenges as well as opportunities for women’s participation in the energy sector.
