The New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) programme, together with Ambon State Polytechnic, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Shaping the Future by Preparing Vocational Human Resources for Sustainable Renewable Energy Development in Maluku Province" on Monday, 20 November 2023.

New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) conducted a Technical Assessment and Sustainability Survey of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) at Lelingluan and Watmasa in the Tanimbar Islands Regency (KKT) from 17 to October 2023.

From the 12th to the 14th of October 2023, the New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) programme provided a Solar PV Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Pūngao Pattimura Mini-Grid Laboratory to technicians, operators, students, and faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Pattimura University (Unpatti) in Ambon.

New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) provided assistance in designing and assessing the feasibility of hybrid solar power generation systems for 23 locations in the 2023 Village Electrification Program (LisDes) in Maluku Province.

The New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) programme hosted a webinar on Tuesday, 11th July 2023, to disseminate the research findings on "The Role and Participation of Women in the Renewable Energy Sector in Maluku Province." This study holds significance as women are in constant contact with energy around the clock.

Yayasan BaKTI, in collaboration with the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government, organised the 9th Indonesia Eastern Region Forum Festival (FFKTI IX) in 2023, on July 26-27, in the city of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The event aimed to celebrate the progress and innovation in Indonesia's development.

The Indo EBTKE Conference and Exhibition (ConEx) 2023 held on July 12-14, 2023, at ICE BSD, Tangerang Selatan, Banten, was a resounding success. This event represented a significant endeavour to enhance support, utilization, and serve as a platform for all stakeholders, ensuring a seamless energy transition.

The government continues to promote the use of new and renewable energy (NRE) to reduce the impact of global warming caused by greenhouse gases. For instance, the "One Million Rooftop Solar Power Plants" initiative targets government buildings, households, and industries.

The 9th NZMATES Technical Committee (TC) Meeting, convened at the Meeting Room of the Maluku Province Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) on Tuesday, 20th June 2023, was attended by notable figures including Dr. Anton A. Lailossa, ST, M.Si, Head of BAPPEDA Maluku Province; Junus Matakena, S.Pi, M.T, Head of EKOSDA BAPPEDA; Said Latupono, ST.

The 8th Programme Steering Group (PSG) meeting of the New Zealand-Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZMATES) programme was convened on Tuesday, 27th June 2023, at the Santika Hotel in Bogor, West Java.
